I downloaded and installed Whisher for Windows XP but when I try to register so that I can login it just says Registering... forever and nothing ever happens! Is there a way to get registering to work? TIA

What kind of forum is this with lots of questions but no answers? Are the Whisher gurus on vacation or did they run out of Redbull?

I replied to your other post where you asked about Whisher. Please, if you can post me to unanswered questions on this forum I would appreciate it - and lots of them as you mention, please, maybe a couple have gone unnoticed, but we do try to answer every single one of them.
Regarding your problem with registration, we have been upgrading the backend servers, and maybe something broke in the registration process - I will have it checked out tomorrow by the developers. By the way, I'm the CTO and co-founder of Whisher, it's 2:44AM where I live, and I'm actually answering your posts - so please, try to be a bit less rude next time. As far as I have experience with support systems, there are no companies that guarantee a reply before 24 hours without asking for a paid support contract - and that excludes weekends (for which you have to pay more). Best regards, Mike

![]() It's pretty useless arguing with someone who is so obviously a Fon shill, so I will just give up and wish you good luck. Come back whenever you want, the door is always open. Cheers, Mike

I'm detecting some bitterness here. Could it be sour grapes?

Not really, just some desire to see the senseless bashing go away. You seem strangely familiar with Spanish tradition, coming from someone living in Arizona, I wonder why...
Founded criticism, or reasoned doubt, is always welcome and worth answering to - but I simply do not see these sort of posts in Fon's forums...I never see posts like "Fon is crap and doesn't work but Whisher is sooo cool!", but we get plenty of these here, on our blog comments...so I have to wonder whether there is something else going. So far, the only thing Fon has proven is that by throwing $40 million at crappy hardware with tweaked open-source firmware, you can get maybe 50k hotspots spread around the world. We have not used even a tiny fraction of that much, and have proven that you can do the same with software alone - and we still have a lot of work left to do. Of course Whisher needs to be improved and stabilized, but that's what we do before hiring PR, instead Fon promotes an crappy box with stereotypical bullfighters in San Francisco What I always tell people - come back with reasoned arguments, or with a description of your problems, and let's work through them. Saying "it's crap and doesn't work" doesn't show a willingness to make something better, but rather to knock it down, or even worse, promote something else. As usual, and as you prove, nobody with this attitude ever takes me up on the offer. Cheers, Mike

Yes, we have removed many features, but this, as you say, does not mean they will not come back in the future as popular demand grows.
Best regards, Mike
